Research Portfolio
Primary research:
This questionnaire is a good example of primary research because I was setting up a method of gathering first hand responses from people who have not answered these questions before, so it is new information.
These questionnaire responses are good examples of primary research because they present new data that has not been found prior to my questionnaire.
Interviews I have conducted:
These interviews are good examples of primary research because I am getting information straight from the people. I am getting their first-hand opinions and experiences which is new and unique data.
Secondary research:
This presentation is a good example of secondary research because it shows that I have done the secondary research of using the internet to find out more about unilever as a brand. This is information that already existed and that I have found and used.
This analysis is a good example of secondary research because it shows all of the information that I have found from other sources and have used for a second time. It also shows information regarding my advert.
This analysis is a good example of secondary research as it contains a lot of information found from sources such as the internet.
Quantitative research:
This questionnaire is a good example of quantitative research because it contains questions that collate data numerically.
These are good examples of quantitative research because they are all numerical and are collated in percentages.
Qualitative Research:
This questionnaire is a good example of qualitative research because there are questions that ask 'what', which means that language is used to collect the data and not numbers.
These are good examples of qualitative research because they were collected through the responders’ own words which makes them all different to numerical data.
Market and Audience research:
This is a good example of market / audience research because I have researched the market of Ben and Jerry's in order to find out what their brand values are originally.
This evaluation shows consideration of how a current target audience is reached. I have researched the target audience of Ben and Jerry's which is both audience and market research.
Production research:
insanity pre production -
Within this link there are:
Location recce, which is used to ensure that the location is able to be used and in what times it can be used with photographs, so everybody is aware what the location looks like. The research carried out for this would be looking into locations and viewing them to see if they are satisfactory.
Location releases which are used to ensure that we have the consent of the property owner to film in their property. The research carried out for this would be finding the property owner and making them aware of the production plans, so they are able to consent.
Prop and costume list, this is important to ensure that we have everything we need for the production, and we are aware of everything we have and who will provide it. The research for this is looking into specifically what props and costumes are needed and the availability of these items.
Budgeting sheet, this is important so that we know exactly how much is being spent so that we can keep to a budget and ensure that the money is spent properly. The research for this is looking into how much props and costumes will cost, as well as possible equipment and food.
Risk assessment, this is important to ensure that all cast and crew are kept safe through filming. The research for this is to look into potential hazards during the production and making sure that all bases have been covered.
Talent releases, these are important to ensure that the actors have consented to being filmed and confirmed that they can do the dates. The research for this is to find actors that are available and looking into their schedules and if they are the right person for the production.
These are good examples of production research. This is because without these the production would not be able to go forward. All of these individual things allow the production process to go smoothly and safely.
